Name of Assignment: Physical and Chemical changes comic
Subject: Chemistry
Facilitator/Teacher: Ms.S
Description of Work/Assignment:
You will need to clearly state the definition of physical and chemical changes within your comic.
Your comic must contain illustrated scenes and dialogue, captions and/or comic bubbles, which
shows a character encountering at least two physical and two chemical changes.
You must clearly label where the physical and chemical changes occur within your comic story.
Sorry, no stick figures allowed!
Proper spelling and grammar should be used and all wording should be legible (easy to read).
Your comic should be neat and colorful.
Be creative! Tell your story in a fun comic-style fashion. You should create a comic character to match
your story. For example, the main character could be a chef at a busy restaurant. The chef is entering
a reality TV competition where he/she must create two dishes that are made from a physical change
and two dishes that are created from a chemical change. This is just an example, you need to be
creative and come up with your own storyline. Have fun!
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
Self directional skills because Ms.S just gave us the sheet and told us to work, so I think that this assignment shows my independency.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I'm most proud of my coloring because I'm not very good at coloring and I kind of surprised myself with this project.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I became more independent after this assignment.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
I found it difficult to write some of the bubbles in sharpie because it took up a lot of space on the paper.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different?
I would definitely focus more on the artwork because I guess I kind of rushed it.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
Yes. This project showed good examples of chemical changes and physical changes which I have learned before
How can you apply this to future learning?
I will use this to create an independent learning space for myself.
